Michelle Obama: Becoming too?

In addition to reminding me that my voice counts, that being a woman makes it harder to be taken seriously and to work my way up, my focus truly was on the man at her side, Barack Obama. It is with his description that I felt the most connected and could see my reflection.

Reading different books at the same time, having a special place in the house to stay alone with my thoughts paper and pen, believing in a better future, believing in the State’s institutions to respond to people’s need and yearning to restore the trust of the population. It is him who fascinated and encouraged me.

The way Michelle looked and saw Obama, is the way most people react when I tell them about my love for public service or interest in Politics as a tool for changes. They are rightly unimpressed.

It inspires me to not only believe in others but adapting myself to any hostile or difficult environment. What I wish for and made me hopeful is how she discovered the power of Politics to make great changes and impact positively her environment. She was able to lobby, push her bill through Congress to effectively create a healthier nutrition for the kids.

She confessed that she was ‘generally happy to stay out of politics and policy making’ but for her cause she needed and was happy to hurl herself into the ring. »

After reading this book, what I feel is Power.
