IRAN war escalation

Last Thursday, January the 2nd , raids authorized and an order to shoot from Donald Trump killed many among them Qasem Soleimani in Baghdad. He was a member of a coalition pro Iran, an anti american, anti Daesh organizations. He is accused of having plotted the death of Americans and shot down US drowns.

The US message is clear: Iran must give up nuclear weapons and end support for terrorism.

Where IRAQ is the theatre of an escalation between the United States and Iran

Thousands of protesters went to attack the US embassy in Baghdad on January 3rd. Later , Iraq’s governement shared their hostility to the presence of US soldiers. The parliament voted for them to leave the country.

Wesdnesday morning Iran fired missiles at two military bases housing US troops in Iraq.

Leaders can take advantage of this to justify further measures and it also distract from the movement of contestations and marches against the government. There were no casualties on either side.

Ali Khamenei’s threats

He qualified the attack of slap in the face and said that Iran will not resume talk on nuclear with the US.

Hezbollah pro Iran militia pledges to get revenge. The general Soleimani fought aside the US against Daesh, Al Qaida but was at the same time against the US hegemony. He was popular in his country ‘protected the Iraqi and Iranian from terrorist wahabite in Syria” , also repression in Iran.

His death is seen as an attack and insult to the Iranian people. The blatant assassination of Soleimani is qualified of terrorist attack by many. It is also against international law and for some an exemple of the United States imperial power.

Iran’s leaders had to rassure its citizen and how the power of the government by doing something. This might explain the missile strikes against the us bases.

What effect on Iran?

By killing them in such a way, they created a martyr, instead of kneeling Irans down. It is awakening the national consciousness and making the population forget the protests they were holding before it happened.
